Out on the streets with trouble I roam
watching my back trying to make it home.
Light fades, darkness takes its toll
if you’re not wise to the game the streets will swallow you whole.
Be aware of the trouble that waits
wind up dead from just one little mistake.
Paranoid, looking at the cracks. Feels like I'm walking with a gun to my back.
I pass by all eyes on me. Will they pull my card? Will they let me be?
A little shook but I keep that inside and I continue my walk never breaking my stride.
Never the safest path to take
Walk with the devil in the streets of hate.
An ugly world makes it hard to sleep
Gotta Learn to hustle gotta play for keeps.
I walk among the scum on the streets
full of villains and thugs picking off the weak.
There’s always something in my way
but I continue my walk, make it home every day.
I'm still alive.
I'm still in one fucking piece.
But in the back of my mind, I know the streets will come take me.
We all walk alone, but not everyone makes it home.
My time is coming to me, not every day will I be so lucky.
